Victims of crime are more likely to cope effectively with the consequences of crime if they are provided with an early opportunity to avail of support. The effects of crime are often more severe when the person is not in their own country of residence. It is therefore, essential that those affected can receive accurate information about their rights, duties and other services available to them.
